Tatting

Yesterday I was a bit bored but didn't really want to get into anything big before bed, so I started working on some tatting again. I had forgotten that I had a bunch of thread and shuttles in my lace box that I earlier had written about. I have a copy of a pattern that I got out of an IOLI newsletter I think that had a really nice tatted bag. I have done part of it before and gave it away as a bookmarker. It is funny how i totally forgot about all this. It also had my needle tatting in there also. I probably won't start doing it consistantly but it was fun to play around with it.

Treasures Found

I have been spending the last few weeks at my brother's house while our mom is in the hospital after a massive heart attack. She is doing great and went home today after being in the hospital a month. While here at my brother's I have started going through things that I have left here with him when I moved to Sweden 6 years ago. I have actually only gone through my lace box that has tons of patterns. I had actually forgotten what I had in there besides 2 books that I knew I had there. I was delighted to see all the things. I have tossed out a few things that were copies from a book that I have later bought and old calendars and things I really don't need. Then I decided that I needed to take some of it with me anyway so I took a few things out especially those 2 books I knew were in there (Practical Skills and my Honiton book). Then today I decided that I really want more of it with me instead of waiting until they get shipped (hell might freeze over before that happens) so I went through the box again. I am wondering if this is why I haven't had the urge to make lace. I even decided to take my box of tatting with me when I go home. I actually can't wait to look through the other boxes before I go. I hope that I have time to do it.
