Zig-Zag Fantasy Shawl Finished

I got my blocking wires from Heirloom Knitting in the mail yesterday so I was able to block out my shawl today. It made it so easy to block the shawl out. I was going to use my blocking board but it had been out in the shed and got broken and also smelled like the shed, and it was too small for this shawl so I followed the instructions on the blocking wires and laid it out on the bed. I am very pleased how it turned out. I love this yarn and how it smells too. I think tomorrow I will work in the ends and it will be done.

Zig-Zag Fantasy Shawl

I finally finished this shawl after having it going for the last 6 years. I decided to start working on it again the week before I went to the hospital for my gastric-bypass. I thought I would actually work on it in the hospital but that didn't happen I just didn't have the energy. I had just the border left and so while recuperating I knitted and finished it.

The pattern is from the company Wool You Order. I bought it 6 years ago and did the intermediate pattern first for Tobbe's sister Linda. After I finished that one I decided to do the easier one and picked this really fabulous yarn that is by GarnStudio it is a 52% silk- 48% wool blend sort of tweedy I so love it. I think the problem I had with the shawl was that it was boring and at the time I started it I had just started school and didn't have as much time with it. I then took it out a few years ago and worked on it until I got to the border and didn't like how the border was going. When I took it out last month I noticed that the reason I didn't like the border was because I had done it wrong so ripped it out and started over, this time I liked it and was able to finish it. I still need to wash and block it. I will probably do it this weekend. Today I was a bit chilled so actually used it a bit while watching tv on the couch. Very happy to be finished with it.
